This is where tradition gets a face lift.
10.31.2014 Since it's Halloween, and there is so much out there in black, I thought I'd bring some light back to today and talk about the opposite. White. White lace is the perfect example of a fashion trend that always comes back. There is no denying it’s beauty, though some of us probably have a lingering distaste for it due to past trends. To be honest, I was one of those people…until I started seeing some of the new lace beauties walking down the runway at the recent Spri

modern meets lace.
Oh the Panton Chair. We all love it. We will always love it. It is the epitome of modern. I fell in love with this white lace version from Ben Adams Architects that was submitted as a competition piece. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the chair, Vitra UK held a competition to customize a chair. This one got second place. I could see this working in so many spaces. The refined nature of the lace pattern makes it traditional enough to give a "home-y" vibe to a modern

This delicate skull done with a white lace pattern is definitely a statement piece. I love the detail in the lace pattern, and how it has turned the skull into a true piece of art. This would be a fantastic and interesting way to bring this trend into a space. (photo from Honey Pie Living etc; http://honeypielivingetc.blogspot.fr/ )

this bed is sending an invitation.
Doesn't this space feel fresh? I think the addition of white lace on the bed makes the entire space feel more inviting. Something about a white lace bed will always bring up memories of a southern guest house...but my thoughit is, if it's only a subtle reminder, and not a sensory overload experience (which lace can sometimes be)...then the memory is definitely welcomed. is pink the new gray right now?
10.17.2014 For those ultra-feminine girly girls out there… this is your season. Fall/ Winter 2014/2015 is all about the color pink. To be specific…pale pink. It is literally the color of the moment, and it’s everywhere. Most designers are including in their collections in one way or another, and the broad use only leads me to ask…which pieces do I need first! So many beautiful options (loving this Ralph Lauren fall 2014 example). As a proclaimed girly girl, you can bet that I

10.14.2014 Whether we love them or hate them, hashtags are a big part of our online fashion lives. This is how we talk about fashion…. And this is why we’ve decided to take the latest most popular fashion week hashtags, and turn them into our latest pendant lights. where did hashtags even start?
Hashtags are 6 years old and are now the most hated, yet praised, introduction of social networks… and it all started on Twitter. Do you know where the hashtag on Twitter came from? It all started with a tweet from Chris Messina, co-founder of BarCamps and presently Google+ UX Designer. At the time, there was a mission to create groups on Twitter. Despite the idea of using hastags for groups, it was used for identifying events. It made tweets shorter, first of all, then Twi

black, white, and wood.
10.9.2014 Black, White, and Wood. There will always be something inherently chic about a monochromatic color scheme, or simple black and white. It is timeless, clean, and always seems to come across as elevated. Lately, with next week’s launch of our new Hashtag lights, I’ve been asking myself…How do I make the elevated look of black and white seem more welcoming….seem more authentic? All of our new lights take the most popular hashtags from fashion week, and turn them into w
