black, white, and wood.

Black, White, and Wood.

There will always be something inherently chic about a monochromatic color scheme, or simple black and white. It is timeless, clean, and always seems to come across as elevated.

Lately, with next week’s launch of our new Hashtag lights, I’ve been asking myself…How do I make the elevated look of black and white seem more welcoming….seem more authentic? All of our new lights take the most popular hashtags from fashion week, and turn them into wooden pendant lights with black and white cords. So as you can see…black and white is definitely at the forefront of my mind.

Let’s face it, we’ve all thought it at one point. “I love this living room! This space looks like it stepped right out of a magazine”…and then thought…”but how do you live in something that feels so harsh all the time?” The reality is, sometimes the starkness of just white and black is anything but welcoming. At the end of the day, you need your space to make you feel like you’re living in a home rather than an editorial.

After much thought (and a lot of Pinterest), I’ve decided that it is in fact possible to create this chic look in a way that feels more like “authentic, comfortable, chic”. The secret ingredient my friends, is simple. Just add wood.

As you’ll notice, all these monochromatic spaces have at least one element of wood that makes a picture perfect home…actually feel like home.
