Since it's Halloween, and there is so much out there in black, I thought I'd bring some light back to today and talk about the opposite. White.

White lace is the perfect example of a fashion trend that always comes back. There is no denying it’s beauty, though some of us probably have a lingering distaste for it due to past trends. To be honest, I was one of those people…until I started seeing some of the new lace beauties walking down the runway at the recent Spring 2015 Paris fashion week. This number from Givenchy is a show stopper, and makes me think it is the perfect way to satisfy good girls and bad girls alike (leather + lace).

What is exciting is that this trend will look just as great indoors. There are so many ways to integrate it into interiors that feel both modern and fresh. Here are some examples that I loved…

Oh the Panton Chair. We all love it. We will always love it. It is the epitome of modern. I fell in love with this white lace version from Ben Adams Architects that was submitted as a competition piece.  In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the chair, Vitra UK held a competition to customize a chair. This one got second place.

I could see this working in so many spaces. The refined nature of the lace pattern makes it traditional enough to give a "home-y" vibe to a modern space.

This delicate skull done with a white lace pattern is definitely a statement piece. I love the detail in the lace pattern, and how it has turned the skull into a true piece of art. This would be a fantastic and interesting way to bring this trend into a space.

Doesn't this space feel fresh? I think the addition of white lace on the bed makes the entire space feel more inviting. Something about a white lace bed will always bring up memories of a southern guest house...but my thoughit is, if it's only a subtle reminder, and not a sensory overload experience (which lace can sometimes be)...then the memory is definitely welcomed.
